Mug shots of four authors who wound up getting arrested.

Ezra Pound - Pound made anti-American radio broadcasts during World War II. He was arrested as a traitor in 1945. One of the 20th century's most influential -- and controversial - poets in the English language. His life's work is titled "The Cantos".



Emma Goldman - arrested February 11, 1916 for promoting birth control. How dare she? Her autobiography is titled "Living My Life".


Malcolm X (Malcolm Little) -  civil rights leader, author of "The Autobiography of Malcom X", arrested for burglary.



Dalton Trumbo - author of many famous screenplays, including "Roman Holiday", he was also blacklisted by Joseph McCarthy.  In 1947, Trumbo was sentenced to a jail term for refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Good for him!

The Collage Faces of Sandhi Schimmel

The Faces of Gavin Nolan

Gavin Nolan is a contemporary Welsh artist. Born in Cardiff, he was educated at Loughborough University and The Royal Academy of Arts, London. He has had solo exhibitions in London and Los Angeles. His 2010 show at Charlie Smith gallery featured portraits of celebrity suicides. He was one of the founding members of Rockwell Gallery in Dalston, London, which was from 2002-2007 an influential artists' run space.
